“I like to use CAN-CLAY as a preventive solution in unknown ground formations or when geologists indicate the presence of clays!”
– Derek McDriller
CAN-CLAY is a high-performance liquid friction reducer, also known as clay inhibitor. Use CAN-CLAY in very high water-sensitive clay formations to prevent the formation of mud rings and getting stuck down-the-hole.
CAN-CLAY mixes very quickly and should be added directly into the mixing tank. Add CAN-CLAY to your mixing system as the last product for maximum efficiency. Start with 0.5 – 1 litre for every 1000 litres of fluid and adjust if necessary. It is crucial to continue adding CAN-CLAY once you are clear of clay zones, as reactive clays need to be treated from the top of the hole to the bottom.
It pays to be proactive when it comes to drilling in water sensitive clay formations, don’t let clay ruin your day! CAN-CLAY is a high-performance liquid friction reducer, also known as clay inhibitor. Use CAN-CLAY in very high water-sensitive clay formations to prevent the formation of mud rings and getting stuck down-the-hole.
Don’t let mud rings turn your good day into a bad day! Can-Clay doesn’t just stop reactive clay formations from swelling around the pipe, but it also eliminates the risk of mud rings developing on your drill string. Being reactive to clay issues can be costly, that’s why we always suggest being proactive by adding Can-Clay to your drilling mud system, where clays can be a threat or in unknown ground conditions.
